Juliet Smith

Founder

Juliet Smith is the Founder and Executive Director of Go Beyond the Walls. She was born in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, immigrated to the United States Virgin Islands, and currently lives in Milford, Massachusetts. Juliet graduated summa cum laude from Liberty University, achieving a Bachelor's degree in Religion, and later completed her Master's in Executive Leadership from the same institution.

As a retired non-commissioned officer of over 20 years in the United States Army, Juliet has trained and traveled extensively throughout the world and understands the effects of poverty. She is interculturally competent and cares deeply about helping women and children of different ethnicities remove barriers in their lives. She is a purpose-driven leader who believes in making a positive impact in her community.

Juliet follows in the footsteps of her grandmother who was a community leader and passionate about serving her community and church. In prior years, Juliet founded a ministry that mentored disadvantaged Latina girls, allowing her to see the challenges they faced as she and her team helped them develop the tools and confidence to thrive.

Go Beyond The Walls was visioned from a series of valuable teachings Juliet received from her church. These teachings inspired her to see the challenges in her community and find ways to solve them. She believes that when a community invests in others, the return on investment is far greater than one can imagine. Juliet hopes for the nonprofit to expand and make a greater impact globally, affording opportunities for senior citizens, women, and children to thrive and reach their God-given potential, regardless of their circumstances.

When Juliet is not actively serving her church and community, you can find her spending time with her family, hosting events, and enjoying all the elements of interior design.

Brianna Smith

Co-Founder

As co-founder of Go Beyond the Walls, Brianna Smith has always had a passion for serving others. Her parents, who shared that passion, raised her with a sense of care and understanding, allowing her to serve others on multiple occasions. Every summer and Christmas season, she and her family would choose a charity to raise funds for; this taught her the importance of giving back. In her senior year of high school, Brianna was awarded the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship by Massachusetts State Representative, Brian Murray, for her leadership in her classes at Whitinsville Christian School and commitment to service in her community. In college, she was invited to join the Richard F. Gross Fellows Program (a one-year program focused on justice in urban environments) where she was able to learn more about leadership and the plight of food insecurity. That program allowed her to go to Washington D.C. and advocate to lawmakers for the availability of healthy foods in each neighborhood and community.

From there, Brianna’s passion was fueled and she was determined to find more permanent ways to serve her community. She is using her Communication Arts degree from Gordon College and her passion for digital marketing to inform others of the disparities that members of her community face as well as develop strategies and solutions that will allow community members to thrive.
